Arbitrary Color

Doing a painting with arbitrary color is a great exercise to help remind you that value-how light or dark it is) is the most important property of color to pay attention to.  Intensity (saturation) comes next, then Temperature. Hue - the color you choose- actually doesn't matter very much at all, just as long as you can make that color the right value, intensity, and temperature for the place you need to put it.
